There's nothing like this in Kalos, not really. While spas are certainly popular there, hot springs like this aren't quite a western thing, and Luka can only vaguely remember visiting a hot spring as a child in Johto. She had hardly appreciated it back then- too hot, she complained, and just sitting around to bathe was boring. Her mother had scolded her back then, told her she would come to like things like this, and little Luka had just scoffed.

But mothers know best. Now, she feels like she live in this spring forever. She loves the comforting warmth of the bath, the subtle perfumed scent that hovers in the air. That feeling of pampering herself, whether or not she's done anything to actually deserve it. But she has been a bit on edge lately, not that it shows in the ease of her pretty smile. The tournament, her rather lackluster attempts at training, the looming dangers of rocket that she's not even fully aware of yet- there's a lot to fret over. So it's nice, sometimes, to just lay back, relax, and get lost in a little daydream.

The hot water melts away any tension and stress in her body, and she heaves a happy sigh as she leans back against the edge of the spring. For a glorious few minutes she has the outdoor spring all to herself- but soon enough she hears the pad of bare feet behind her and a shuffle of wood as the door to the outdoor area opens. Luka cracks one eye open and is glad to see another girl, but still holds her towel in front of herself, a little embarrassed.

"Hello," she greets the newcomer with a lazy little wave. She hopes the slight flush to her cheeks can be excused by the heat of the springs. "Are you coming in? The water is so nice..."

Ahh, thos was going to be good. She could already tell from that fresh, natural scent in the air and a cozy warmth permeating the place. She had seen something similar near the volcanos in Alola, though she hadn’t had a chance to sample saunas, Hoenn style just yet. Which was certainly something she was going to alleviate now.

Plus, after all the commotion of the tournament, she could use that, too. So many fights in such a short amount of time had made it difficult to truly relax, despite it taking place near the ocean. But even a place where others went on vacation could easily become work, so she had not managed to truly settle down and relax after the battles had ended. But here? Here she certainly could.

Especially since she did not know anyone. Or at least, that was what she’d presumed. However, once she entered the springs, only barely covered by a towel herself since she rarely saw the point among women, she did see a familiar face, foxy friendly face. “Oh, hello Luka. Fancy seeing you again here~” she greeted the other playfully and in a friendly manner. That girl was cute in the truest sense of the word. Which was also why Eve quite enjoyed her presence.

[break][break] the air in the sauna was hot and humid, something that reminded her oddly of kanto, despite the fact that their base had not really been anywhere near any hot springs. wearing nothing but a black bikini, the woman places the towel on a nearby bench and sinks into the spring, just as she notices two others that she hasn't met before.

None of these things are of any appeal to Sol, and yet when combined in a warm pool of water, they create something relaxing and delightful. Or, so she has been told.

It’s not like Sol has ever been to a hot spring before today, but it had been Callie’s idea, and Callie often seems like one of the only people capable of getting Sol to do anything. Hot springs? Sure, why?

She doesn’t really care for the sheer amount of people that seem to be visiting Lavaridge at the same time as them though, because Sol has never been much for crowds, but she pays this no mind, and when they step into one of the springs, it’s with a calm expression that she greets the two young women who are there with them.

"Oh! Mademoiselle Moreau!" Luka claps her hands in delight when she's joined by her friend, though the movement accidentally splashes a bit of water in the other woman's direction. They're in a similar boat: Luka considers the other woman absolutely adorable, and the fact that she's so kindhearted only adds to her numerous charms. "Oh gosh, I never thought I'd run into you here! The springs are so lovely, don't you think?"

That bit of small talk carries them until they're joined by two others. Friendly waves are offered all around, and Luka nods at the introduction. Politely, she doesn't bring up the fact that only one of their new companions is doing all the talking. "Hey there! I'm Luka," she says- she doesn't want to presume anything about Evette and leaves it to the other woman to make her own introductions. "We've got plenty of room here...the water is so perfect.

She glances over at Callie, smile wide. "Your swimsuit is so cute, by the way!"

Luka certainly was a different kind of socialite to her, she decided. More of a butterfly, while she was the moth, more quiet, but still drawing others in at times. Even now, she mostly just smiled gently and joined her friend in the water, while the latter called for the newcomers. One of them seemed to be more of the quiet type as well, while the raven-haired one took care of introductions.

And since Luka did not do so for her, Evette, who by now had taken a seat of her own, went at it herself. “Evette Moreau,” she simply stated, allowing her Kalosian accent to come out thickly enough to be pretty much part of the introduction itself. Afterwards, she leaned back with a bit of a sigh. “It certainly has a good temperature indeed. Though for perfection, we could use a bit more steam, I would say.”

[break][break] "oh sure," she says as luka chêne invites them to come over to their side of the spa. she glances briefly at @sol to make sure it's okay, before wading her way over. "oh, you don't have to tell me. it feels awesome on my skin."

[break][break] especially after all those afternoon spent with the training academy, this was well worth it. maybe she should ask someone if they could make this a team activity?

[break][break] "oh thanks!" she pipes up as the cute pink-haired girl compliments her outfit. it's a surprise to callie, considering it's usually sol who gets the compliments, but she's more than happy to accept it. "no point in coming if we can't show off a little, right?" she lets out a laugh.

[break][break] the heat of the room seems to double, allowing steam to leak through. she looks at Evette Moreau as the other speaks. "oh, don't worry. heat has never bothered us before. right sol?" she glances back at her childhood friend with a wink.
